Asus Lamborghini VX5 - hands-on review

Asus Lamborghini VX5Following on from the success of previous Lamborghini-branded laptops, Asus today launched the latest – the Lamborghini VX5 – at the exclusive South Kensington Lamborghini showroom.

The 16-inch VX5 is a truly stunning machine, offering exquisite build quality, performance and usability. It’s clad in leather and aluminium, along with high-gloss plastics that are finished in the same high-gloss white or black colours as Lamborghini’s road cars. Asus claims the edgy design is inspired by the limited edition Lamborghini Reventon sports car.

The keyboard features the same isolated design sported by its latest siblings, and we found it comfortable and well made. The touchpad is also large and responsive, and it’s both a stylish and functional machine.

The screen is ideally suited to media playback, with a sharp, Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio. Those needing high performance are served by a powerful nVidia GeForce GT 130M graphics card, and office performance should also be among the best available, thanks to a range-topping Intel Core 2 Quad Q9000 processor and 4096MB of memory.

The VX5 comes packed with features including 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a range of ports, HDMI and eSATA included. Storage space is outstanding, at up to 1TB, offering enough space for even the largest media collections.
