Sony invited us to an exclusive club in central London today to take a sneak peak at the latest addition to the VAIO range, the E Series. Aimed firmly at those after everyday computing, the E Series boasts decent specifications and a very attractive chassis.
The E Series’ 15.5-inch screen is bright, vibrant and features a very thin bezel with some models also boasting a 1920 x 1080 screen resolution, ideal if you want to watch high definition content – assuming you’ve chosen the optional Blu-ray drive.
The new E Series chassis design is very attractive and features a backlit keyboard using Sony’s cut-out-key style. A dedicated number pad is also included, making inputting data quick and simple.
Specifications will vary depending on which model of E Series you go for, but Intel’s latest processing technology is available in the Core processor family, with up to 6GB of memory available. Graphics chips from ATi’s new Mobility Radeon 5000 series look to provide the laptop with some 3D performance.
Other features the E Series boasts include the new VAIO Fix feature – which helps you diagnose issues with your laptop – along with Quick Web access, which allows you to browse the internet without even booting up the main operating system, saving you time.
Available later this month, pricing for the Sony VAIO E Series has yet to be confirmed.
