The DX900 is the first smartphone we’ve seen from Acer, following on from its acquisition of phone manufacturer E-TEN last year. It’s also the first Windows Mobile 6.1 device to support two SIM cards.
High-speed connectivity is provided by 3G/HSDPA technology, and the ability to use two SIM cards simultaneously means you’ll be able to have a single handset for both personal and business use.
The large 2.8-inch touchscreen display features a pin-sharp VGA resolution, which should make media playback a pleasure. Built-in memory is limited, at 256MB, but a micro-SD reader makes it easy to add, store and transfer files.
With the latest SiRF Star III GPS chip, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, this is one of the most comprehensively equipped handsets available, and Office Mobile software makes it as useful in the office as it is at home.
Prices start at £454 (inc. VAT) SIM-free, with the phone set to go on sale within the next month. Visit www.clove.co.uk to pre-order.
