Dell has introduced a 10-inch netbook to its Inspiron Mini range. The netbook boasts some welcome upgrades over its 8.9-inch little brother, and comes with Intel’s Atom Processor with a choice of either 1.33GHz or 1.6GHz variants, and packs 1024MB of RAM. The 160GB hard drive means plenty of space for photos, videos and music.
The 10.1-inch screen has a widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio, which should make watching films and editing photos a pleasure and the 92 per cent full size keyboard enables comfortable typing. The resource intensive Windows Vista operating system has been shunned in favour of Windows XP meaning performance rates should be healthy.
The Inspiron Mini 10 features an impressive line up of ports including, two USB, one eSata, a 4-in-1 memory card reader and an HDMI out for hooking up to a larger screen. The standard 3-cell battery will last around three hours, with no current option to upgrade. Available now, the Inspiron Mini 10 starts at £299.
