Google Android Acer netbooks due in Q3

Google AndroidAcer has become the first netbook manufacturer to confirm that it is to ship machines with Google’s Android operating system implemented, although Windows XP will still be included in the package.

Ever since the Android operating system debuted on the G1 mobile phone last year, there have been calls for it to be to be introduced as a laptop and netbook operating system.

This is because it was originally designed and built with smartphones in mind and is therefore extremely fast in wirelessly accessing and browsing the web. It is for this reason that it will be so useful for netbook users and those who need to check emails and access the internet on the go.

Acer plans to launch the first Android implemented Aspire One netbook in Q3 of 2009, and that the majority of Acer Aspire One netbooks will eventually feature the Android operating system.
