HTC’s original Touch Diamond was an impressive touchscreen phone, with a low battery life proving its biggest problem. The Touch Diamond 2 is a complete overhaul, adding usability, and attempting to address the faults of the original handset. read more »
HTC’s Touch range seems to get better with every new release, with its TouchFLO software getting more and more intuitive. The Touch HD (£545 inc. VAT) is the range flagship, offering the largest screen, and looking to entice regular consumers. read more »
This super-chunky Windows Mobile device comes up with a high rating because if you need its features you simply won’t find much competition out there. However, don’t even consider it if you are looking for something sleek and slim because these things it most certainly is not. It is a massive 73mm wide, 137mm tall and 21mm thick and it weighs more than 200g. read more »
The Touch Pro is HTC’s top-of-the-range smartphone, and it’s aimed at business users. The 2.8-inch touchscreen display is outstanding, and it’s one of the sharpest we’ve seen on a mobile phone. Surprisingly, it’s also capable of displaying web pages in full, thanks to the Opera browser, and double-tapping on a specific area lets you zoom in. It’s not perfect, however, and our phone suffered from occasional lag when zooming in. read more »
At one time, HTC made handsets for other companies, but it is increasingly making a name for itself in the Windows Mobile space. The Touch Diamond has a high-gloss finish and the faceted design on the back helps give it its name.
The quality of the plastic used is variable, as the back of the device is solid but we found the front a little less robust. The glossy finish also means you’ll be constantly polishing the 2.8-inch screen. read more »
